This training program has a maximum of 25 places and will be 100% online so that people can register not only from the national territory but also from outside our country. The sessions will be live via videoconference every Friday from 16:00 to 21:00h. Although they will be recorded in case you are unable to attend or to review the session afterward.

Since the number of places is limited, once the registration period is over, the Master's management will select students whose professional or academic profile best suits the content of the course. Classes will begin on 19 November 2021 and will end on 24 June 2022.

On the other hand, the students could take advantage of the different internship programs managed by the Pablo de Olavide University Foundation. In addition, Emergya, as a collaborating company, will offer to the graduates of the Master with the best performance a series of vacancies within its Cloud and AI/Data development teams.

Why become an expert in Cloud Architecture and Systems?

"Cloud Architect" and "Data Engineer" will be among the most in-demand professions in the future. This fact is according to the report "Jobs of Tomorrow. Mapping Opportunity in the New Economy" (January 2020, World Economic Forum). This study explains that Cloud Computing is one of the areas that will have the most professional opportunities in the medium and long term. In fact, just in Spain, between 2018 and 2019, the demand for Cloud experts increased by 48.78% due to the growing digitization of companies. 

In January 2020, it was impossible to anticipate the unexpected scenario brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic. With COVID-19, many companies have been forced to digitize to be able to continue developing their activity. As a result, it is estimated that by 2022, 40% of companies' technology budgets will be related to the Cloud.

For companies, cloud services are a guarantee of flexibility that optimizes workflows and also reduces infrastructure costs. Cloud computing has become a rising value for companies in all sectors. But, while companies are increasingly contracting cloud services, there is a lack of experts in the field to meet this demand.

What a Cloud Architect does

The functions of a Cloud architect cover everything related to the development of a company's cloud infrastructure. They must address the migration strategy and plan and design solutions based on Cloud services. These solutions must be secure and scalable so they can be adapted to different business environments.
The Master's Degree in Cloud Systems Architecture and Development is based on these general competencies. But, in addition, the training program provides specific knowledge for the management of the tools and solutions integrated with Google Cloud Platform, such as:

• Analysis of information management and processing needs.
• Design of effective and efficient solutions, not only technologically but also from an economic point of view.
• Evaluation and establishment of system security.

All this will be taught taking into account the technical training in the development and deployment of solutions within the Google Cloud Platform.

Beyond the functions of a Cloud Architect, this training program will also prepare students in other areas related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data, in general. In addition, Emergya is one of the principal Google Premier Partners with ML specialization in Spain and one of the few in Europe. Among the other contents that will be addressed related to these other areas are data management and the creation of conversational systems.

How to become a Cloud Architect: requirements for access to the master's program

There are two ways of accessing the Master's Degree in Cloud Systems Architecture and Development: through a university degree or the non-degree route.

Those in possession of an official graduate degree, from any institution in the European Higher Education Area, will obtain the master's degree at the end of the program.

On the other hand, those who have not yet completed their undergraduate studies or come from FP will be awarded the University Extension Diploma in Architecture and Development of Cloud Systems.

This training program is also aimed at IT professionals in general. They do not need to have any qualifications, but they may work or know about this sector.

The teaching staff will be made up of professors from the University of Pablo de Olavide. In addition, there will also be experts from large companies specializing in the cloud. These include engineers from Google Cloud Spain and Emergya, who have extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) projects, both nationally and internationally.
