14 December, 2020 Project Diversity 2021, when variety makes the difference The Randstad Foundation's 'Companies for Diversity and Inclusion' project will lead us to cooperate on inclusion and awareness-raising. The issue of diversity is not an easy one for companies. Even if we in people management departments are willing to commit to it, and even if we prioritize it over other factors, we find it difficult. This matter happens because sometimes we lack knowledge of the context, awareness or simply information and advice. For this reason, when we want to get fully involved in this issue and commit to it beyond mere compliance with the law, we must recognize that we cannot go it alone. This is our case. And it is the reason why we trust the Randstad Foundation as a partner on this issue. And, like us, so many other companies across the country. It is an excellent way to learn and to contribute, knowing that we still have a long way to go. The Randstad Foundation has launched a beautiful project with which it wants to involve companies in diversity awareness. The project 'Companies for Diversity and Inclusion' will take us by hand to cooperate in inclusion and awareness. At Emergya Talent Management, we are very excited. This is not a simple campaign, but a complete project that will last a whole year and that will include technical conferences to share experiences and promote initiatives, draw conclusions that will be materialized in a final report and, of course, generate awareness and sensitization actions. During this year, we will continue to work on this issue to improve it further. The first feelings are already positive. On 3 December, this initiative was born, coinciding with the commemoration of World Disability Day through the campaign 'I am much more', starring Cisco García. In it, the Paralympic tennis player and one of the hundred most important influencers in Spain according to Forbes magazine, tells about his life and his particular circumstances in an emotional way. Undoubtedly, this statement has served to raise awareness of this reality because, as he says in a beautiful video released by the foundation, "before being a person with a disability", he is "much more". This campaign has highlighted the current reality of this group, which is also affected by the pandemic. According to a report published by the foundation on the 3rd, it showed that the recruitment of people with disabilities in Spanish companies has fallen by 29%. In contrast to the previous year, when the number of people with disabilities was at its highest. Andalusia, fortunately, is not one of the most affected communities. In fact, it is the one that has made the most contracts. However, this does not mean that we should not continue working to reverse the situation. From here, we have an exciting road ahead of us that will continue to progress. Over the next year, we must turn around these numbers and, more importantly, the realities behind them. The people management team at Emergya always says that we are a diverse company. We believe that a diverse team is always a better team. We like to have people who are different from each other, and this is something we work on every day when we select our teams. We believe in equal opportunities and the value of diversity. Therefore, this must be the year to show it and focus on it. So ... here we go, thank you Randstad Foundation! Pilar Choza Emergya's HR and Communications Manager
